CLUB PROFILE FOR 220 Photo Saturday 24/2

This is being engineered by Gary Davies and will feature in a future issue of the monthly multi sport magazine 220. (If you are not a subscriber it can be bought off the shelf from WH SMITH.) We will be having a photo taken of all Club
Members on Saturday 24th February at the Lido before the swim session at 4.30pm, so meet at 4pm on the car park across the road. Please bring your FCTC cycle tops, Peter Handforth will have the unsold ones with him for purchase on the day or just to borrow for the photo. The more the better, so if youve always wanted your picture to appear in the mag, COME ON DOWN.
PS There will be a 500m swim TT that evening so bring your trunks/costumes & get a time.

COMBINED CLUBS 25ml TT SUNDAY 11th MARCH ..Yes, its here already!

This is the first of the two for the year (the next one is in September) in which about 10 people express an interest and only 3 or 4 turn up on the day.
Please, it doesnt look good for the club with all the DNS on the sheet. Decide youre going to do it, enter, train and DO IT. Its a pretty flat course on a wide road, so if youve not been using your bike much up to now, have an aim and LET DANNY SWARBRICK KNOW ASAP as entries HAVE TO BE IN 2WKS BEFORE. Its only £1 or so to enter, with tea & biscuits at the end and we usually have an early

If you still dont own one, get one now - £32.50ea from Peter Handforth, there are different sizes left. They are a good design and excellent quality, withstanding hot washes and tumble driers, and last forever.

CLUB RACE Saturday & Sunday 7/8th April

Will be run in the same format as before, it works well and needs very little organisation

Saturday 7th April500m swim, 4.30pm Lido Pool, Lytham Rd, Blackpool.

Sunday 8th April...10ml bike followed by 3.1ml run 10.30am Eagle & Child pub
car park, Treales. (On the road between The Derby Arms at Treales near Kirkham, and Inskip)
Afterwards we go into the pub for a Jacobs Join ( everyone brings something to eat and puts it on the table to help yourself ) and have a drink or two. It is a very sociable event with kids coming along too and the landlord is very good, theres usually only us in there and he has the fire lit so dont be put off.
There will no doubt be the usual friendly rivalry between members and some bantering going on during the race as well as the stories and excuses being told afterwards. And its FREE to enter!
